Citizenship & Immigration Law
Turkish citizenship by investment, residence and work permits, entry bans and deportation, and powers of attorney from abroad.
This area covers the acquisition and loss of Turkish citizenship (Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901), the entry, residence and employment of foreigners in Türkiye (Law on Foreigners and International Protection No. 6458; International Labour Force Law No. 6735) and administrative procedures for people living abroad.
Citizenship by investment is available as an exceptional route in the cases listed in Article 20 of the Regulation on the Implementation of the Turkish Citizenship Law, for example by acquiring real estate of a specified minimum value with an annotation in the land registry that it will not be sold for three years. Because the amounts and conditions change from time to time, the rules in force should be checked before any purchase or application.
Residence permit applications are made to the Presidency of Migration Management; short-term, family, student and long-term residence permits are subject to different conditions.
